Introduction

Mechatronics, which is also called mechatronic engineering, is a multidisciplinary branch of engineering that focuses on the engineering of both electrical and mechanical systems, and also includes a combination of robotics, electronics, computer, telecommunications, systems, control, and product engineering. As the modern manufacturing techniques include 3D printing and high accuracy Machining making all the complex and essential parts easily. The course is about the machines themselves.

Course Outcome

This course will develop a understanding of mechatronics and its application for making shop-floor machines. The course includes making your own 3D printer and CNC machines. At the end of the course someone is supposed to have a familiarity with shop floor machines and able to make small models for his/her personal use.
